EWS Group, Gosselin Group, and INTRESO Group BV have reached an agreement under which EWS and Gosselin have acquired the operating assets of Descroes BV in Belgium. The transaction structure transfers the operational capability of Descroes without transferring the legacy corporate entity, allowing the parties to anchor the business within a clean and future-focused framework.
Through this acquisition, all container fumigation activities will be continued under PQF (Port Quarantine Fumigation), a newly established and independent entity that operates separately from both EWS Group and Gosselin Group. PQF leverages EWS’s treatment expertise and benefits from access to Gosselin’s extensive inland terminal network, enabling a strengthened and seamlessly connected service offering across the Antwerp–Bruges port hinterland, while maintaining its own neutral and autonomous position in the market.
All other Descroes services, including pest control, commodity fumigation, and container gas measurements, will be fully integrated into the existing EWS organisation, further reinforcing EWS’s established operational structure. Under this new framework, Descroes will cease to operate.
For both EWS and Gosselin, this move reinforces their commitment to delivering compliant, transparent, and safe treatment services at scale. The integration of these assets enables further investment in modern facilities and operating systems aligned with tightening EU regulatory expectations.
Descroes has operated since 1925, providing quarantine, post-harvest, and logistics-related treatment services across the region. EWS Group and Gosselin Group each bring complementary strengths through their extensive port operations and long history of supporting global supply chains.
